Mitigation has got all the attention, but we cannot mitigate out of this problem. We now have a choice between a future with a damaged world or a severely damaged world.
– Dr. Martin Parry
Co-Chair, WG II, Inter-governmental
Panel on Climate Change
The Carpe Diem - Western Water & Climate Change Project is a network of experts and decision makers dedicated to addressing the impacts of climate change on water resources in the American West. It was established in 2007 by a group of water leaders who recognized that climate change requires everyone in the field to think in new ways. The Project is housed at Exloco, a nonprofit organization with expertise in spotlighting critical issues and facilitating strategic thinking.
By linking leaders and integrating climate-change science with the needs of stakeholders, Carpe Diem incubates new initiatives and promotes sustainable practices and policies to provide water security for people, ecosystems, industry, and food production. [Getting to System Change]
